Abstract: The first diiodo palladium complex with nucleophilic benzothiazole carbenes as ligands has been synthesized and characterized. The complex, which is extraordinarily stable towards heat, oxygen, and moisture, has been found to show good catalytic activity in the Heck coupling reaction.
