Abstract
- A cutaneo-subcutaneous flap based on the lateral superior genicular artery was anatomically investigated and applied in three clinical cases. Consistent anatomy, a long vascular pedicle, fairly easy dissection, primary donor closure, and minimal donor-site morbidity are the most important advantages when a medium-sized flap is needed. The flap may be used as a thin, delicate, free cutaneous-subcutaneous transfer for reconstruction of skin defects. It may also be applied as an axial flap to cover defects of the popliteal region.
