Abstract
- Use of the threshold detector system is considered for the measurement of neutron doses below the fission threshold of/sup 237/Np. For the real neutron spectra of different critical assemblies the specific dose in the energy region 400 eV to 0.56 MeV varies widely. This leads to inaccuracy in the dose estimate using the simple assumption of a 1/E spectrum. A new interpretation is proposed using a different spectral model, which enables the accuracy of the dose estimate to be greatly improved. (auth)
