Abstract: A link between atopic dermatitis and food allergy has long been suspected but remains elusive. In this issue, Leyva-Castillo et al. (2019) show how mechanical injury of the skin initiates a cascade of events that stimulate the expansion of mucosal mast cells and promote food anaphylaxis.
