Abstract
- Haphazard and inefficent securing of chronic gastrostomy or jejunostomy tubes causes major complications due to migration of the percutaneous feeding tube, including pyloric or intestinal obstruction, obstructive jaundice, and impaired feeding. These problems associated with current anchoring techniques can be prevented by following an inexpensive, easily learned stabilization method using sterile gauze pads and tape that fixes the tube in position.
