Abstract

SMEs in Malaysia are an important segment of the nation s wealth creation and for employment. Approximately 99.2% of the total established businesses in Malaysia are SMEs and the total employment share is 59.5%. The Malaysian government is confident that the Economic Transformation Plan framework will boost the SMEs to become the driving force in building the nation. In view of this, the primary aim of this research is to delve into the predictor that encourages the practice of market orientation from the perspective of entrepreneurial attitude orientation of the Malaysian entrepreneurs. This research contributes to the body of knowledge on market orientation by having a better understanding of the specific factors which are crucial for SMEs to assist in the nation wealth creation.
