Abstract
- A duodenal biopsy from an untreated patient with Whipple's disease was studied by light and electron microscopy. The specimen contained innumerable instances of binary fission of the rod-shaped bodies characteristic of the disease. The findings add further support for a bacterial concept of Whipple's disease.
