An Integrated Approach to Observe the Evolution of Pollutants in Reservoirs

A method for combining monitoring, mathematical modeling, and the use of a geographical information system (GIS) is proposed to investigate the transport, dispersion and diffusion of pollutants in reservoirs. Preliminary and partial results obtained from an extensive and continous observation and measurement activity on the Camastra reservoir have confirmed the validity of the proposed approach.
