Abstract
- A rectal prolapse in a wild lioness (Panthera leo Linnaeus) was manually reduced with the aid of chemical restraint and anaesthesia employing phencyclidine hydrochloride, acetylpromazine and thiopentone sodium. The ethical justification for the procedure was based on aesthetic and economic values.
