Type locality: Not given, but Emerson & Price (1975) noted it was in Europe. Malaysian host: Ovis aries. Malaysian localities: Bachok, Gua Musang, Jeli, Kota Bharu, Kuala Krai, Machang, Pasir Mas, Pasir Puteh, Tanah Merah, Tumpat (Kelantan) Peninsular Malaysia (Syamsul et al. 2020); Ayer Keroh, Jasin (Melaka) Peninsular Malaysia (this paper); Beranang (Selangor) Peninsular Malaysia (this paper). Geographical distribution: Worldwide except Antarctica. Remarks: Here, we report two new records of Bovicola ovis from farmed sheep in the state of Selangor and in southern Melaka.
