Abstract
- Description of Agromyces salentinus 17J49-8 Cells are Gram-stain-positive, non-flagellated, and rod shaped. Colonies are circular, convex, smooth, and pale-yellow colored after 4 days on R2 A at 25° C. Nitrate is reduced and esculin is hydrolyzed. The strain shows positive reactions for enzyme activities of urease, arginine dihydrolase, and β -galactosidase, whereas the strain shows negative reaction for enzyme activity of gelatinase. Indole is not produced and glucose is not fermented. The strain utilizes D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, malic acid, and trisodium citrate, whereas the strain does not utilize adipic acid, capric acid, and phenylacetic acid. Strain 17J49-8 (= NIBRBAC000501344) was isolated from a soil sample, Jeju, Korea.<br />Published as part of Kim, Mi-Sun, Jeong, Seong-Hwa, Kang, Joo-Won, Kim, Seung-Bum, Cho, Jang-Cheon, Cha, Chang-Jun, Im, Wan-Taek, Bae, Jin-Woo, Lee, Soon-Dong, Kim, Won-Yong, Kim, Myung-Kyum & Seong, Chi-Nam, 2019, Unrecorded prokaryotic species belonging to the class Actinobacteria in Korea, pp. 97-108 in Journal of Species Research 8 (1) on page 104, DOI: 10.12651/JSR.2019.8.1.097, http://zenodo.org/record/8120476
