Isotopic equilibration in surface reactions

The isotopic equilibration in the surface reaction: A2+B2→Surface2nAB+(1−)A2+(1−n)B2, is investigated by solving kinetic equations of the mean-field approximation type and by means of Monte Carlo simulations. We consider the adsorption of the isotopic species A2 and B2 as direct and dissociative. We also show the effect of the diffusion of the adatoms on the rate ratio r2ABrA2rB2.
