Batalin-Vilkovisky analysis of supersymmetric systems

Abstract
- We consider supersymmetric systems (global N = 1 and 2; N = 1 super Yang-Mills; N = 1 supergravity) in four dimensions and apply the Batalin-Vilkovisky formalism to close the supersymmetric algebras without relying on the unusual auxiliary fields. All these systems are shown to be of rank 2. The case of the D = 11, N = 1 supergravity is briefly discussed.
