Abstract
- A modification of the Le- compte operation is reported in which the pulmonary valve is pre- served. This technique is applicable in certain anomalies of ventriculoar- terial connection with ventricular septal defect and subpulmonary sten- osis. The main advantage of this modification, besides preservation of growth potential of the translocated pulmonary artery, consists of preser- vation of pulmonary valve function, which may have a beneficial effect on the long-term preservation of right ventricular compliance.
