Abstract
- Measurement of bladder urine oxygen tension has been proposed as a new method to potentially detect the risk of acute kidney injury in patients. A computational model of oxygen exchange between urine bolus and ureteral tissue shows that it may be technically possible to determine the risk of acute kidney injury based on the measurement of bladder urine oxygen tension, provided that the measurement data are properly interpreted via a computational model.
