Abstract
- This letter to the editor describes a study which investigated the profile of tuberculosis (TB) and the nature of drug resistance pattern among 176 HIV-positive subjects suspected of TB based on the clinical grounds attending a tertiary AIDS care center in Chennai South India. It states that anti-TB drug susceptibility testing should be performed for all patients who are culture positive for M. tuberculosis and concludes that there is a need for strengthening collaboration between TB and AIDS control programs to counteract the impact of HIV on TB.
