Effect of Turbinate Intervention on Nasal Functions in Septorhinoplasty Surgery

OBJECTIVE This study was performed to evaluate the effect of inferior turbinate reduction on nasal function. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 32 patients who underwent septorhinoplasty (SRP) operation were included in the study and assigned into 2 groups as group I who received inferior turbinate reduction during SRP operation consisted of 17 patients and the group II who consisted of 15 patients without inferior turbinate reduction. For 2 groups before and after surgery, visual analogue score and findings of the acoustic rhinometry were recorded both before and after decongestion of the nasal mucosa.
