A Palaearctic species widely distributed in North Africa, the Near East, Europe, and Siberia up to the Enisei River, extending also to the Afrotropical Region (Uganda) (Cobben 1987 b, Lindskog 1995, Aukema et al. 2013). In Iran the species was known only from Gilan and Golestan (Linnavuori & Hosseini 2000, Vinokurov 2007); it is here recorded for the first time from Tehran Province.
