Abstract

Euphthiracarus cribrarius (Berlese, 1904) (Figs. 26���29) Phthiracarus cribrarius Berlese, 1904: 23; Bernini, 1969: 391. Euphthiracarus cribrarius: Grandjean, 1967: 250; Niedbała, 1993: 45; 2001 a: 299; 2008: 120. Euphthiracarus (Euphthiracarus) cribarius: Niedbała, 2000: 139. (misspelling) Material examined. Five adults (in alcohol, T0160), China: Shaanxi Province, Foping County (33 �� 31 ' 28 "N, 107 �� 59 ' 19 "E), south slope of Qinling Mt., Daoliushui, from litter under bamboo, 17 Nov., 1995, leg. Zhi-Gao Zeng. New record for China. Measurements. Prodorsum: length 359���362, width 240���249, height 124���139, setae: ss 148, in 180, le 110, ro 100, ex 34, distance between setae: ro -ro 65, in -in 107, le -le 50, in -le 118, le -ro 70; notogaster: length 741���760, width 440���510, height 430���479; setae: c 1 150, c 2 140, c 3 100, c p 100, d 1 100, d 2 90, e 1 120, e 2 100, h 1 150, h 2 125, h 3 95, ps 1 150, ps 2 120, ps 3 95; distance between setae: c 1 -d 1 190, d 1 -e 1 200, e 1 -h 1 165, h 1 -ps 1 115; ventral region: genitoaggenital plate 310 �� 110, anoadanal plate 335 �� 60. Description. Surface of body punctate. Prodorsum with two parallel lateral carinae on each side, upper carina stronger; sensilli long and setiform, sparsely barbed in distal half; interlamellar and lamellar setae robust, erect, covered with small spines in distal half; rostral setae rough, semi-erect, thinner than lamellar setae, curved and flagellate at distal end; exobothridial setae short and fine; comparative length: in>ss > le > ro>ex. Notogaster with 14 pairs of setae, covered with small spines in distal half; vestigial setae f 1 located anteriorly of setae h 1. Genital plates with nine pairs of setae, g 1-3 fine, located in progenital position, other setae thick and slightly long; two pairs of aggenital setae present, ag 1 minute, ag 2 thick and more than four times as long as ag 1; three pairs of anal and three pairs of adanal setae present, setae an 1 and an 2 smooth and flagellate at distal end, setae an 3 and adanal setae shorter, robust and covered with small spines in distal half; lyrifissures iad situated between setae an 3 and ad 3. Setae h of mentum longer than distance between them; palps three-segmented with setal formula: 2 - 2-8 (1). Chaetotaxy of legs (without tarsi): I: 1-2 - 4 (2)- 5 (1); II: 1-3 - 3 (1)- 5 (1), III: 2 - 2 - 2 (1)- 2 (1), IV: 2 - 1 - 1 (1)- 2 (1); all legs heterotridactylous. Distribution.
