Abstract
- International audience; In this paper we analyzed the role of religion in the models of the communicative competence. We examined the meaning of the concept “spirituality” and found out that its content depends on the point of view: religious or secular. In the secular interpretation, spirituality is related to the exalted emotional condition and considered to be an aspiration to absolute truth. From the religious point of view, spirituality is determined by the individual's personal relations with God. We summarized the ideas that lay behind the discussion of new subject on the Basics of religion and secular ethics in public schools. These ideas define the role of spiritual and religious component in educational process and its potential for personal development.
