Some aspects of chemistry in adhesion on anodized aluminium

Abstract
- The chemistry of adsorption of typical compounds of epoxy and phenolic resins on various anodized aluminium surfaces was studied by Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy. It was found that resols and epoxynovolak form strong complex compounds with the oxide on the aluminium surface and that dicyandiamide is partially hydrolyzed to guanylurea. These results are correlated with the properties of adhesive joints.
