Surgical decompression for malignant cerebral oedema after ischaemic stroke

This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (intervention). The objectives are as follows: To assess the effectiveness of surgical decompression in patients with malignant oedema after ischaemic stroke with regards to reduction in mortality and improved functional survival. We also aim to examine the adverse effects of surgical decompression in this patient cohort.
