Abstract

The molecular mechanism of the heme protein, hemoglobin (Hb) interaction with sulfa molecule, sulfadiazine (SDZ) has been investigated through spectroscopic, neutron scattering and molecular modeling techniques. Absorption and emission spectroscopic studies showed that SDZ molecules were bound to Hb protein, non-cooperatively.
