Myrsidea thoracica

Myrsidea thoracica (Giebel, 1874) Host: Turdus torquatus Linnaeus, 1758. Ref.: Hudec (1983) as Myrsidea sp.; this paper. Location: N��zke Tatry���Čertovica, 29 Jun. 1960 (Bal��t Coll., MMBC slide number 1211). Notes: Hudec (1983) recorded Myrsidea sp. from this host, but without giving a location. This record was probably made on the basis of slide 1211 from the Bal��t Coll., because there is no other Myrsidea from this host in the collection This is a first record of Myrsidea thoracica from Slovakia, and it is also a new host-louse association for Myrsidea thoracica worldwide (Price et al. 2003: 132).
