Caecilia oxyura Duméril & Bibron, 1841 Duméril & Bibron, 1841. Erp. Gén., 8: 280. Current name: Uraeotyphlus oxyurus (Duméril & Bibron, 1841). Paralectotype: RMNH 2414, 1 spec. Loc.: “Côte du Malabar” [India]. Leg.: J.J. Dussumier. Ex: Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris. Remarks. According to Guibé (1950: 4) the type series consists of RMNH 2414 and MNHNP 4271 (2 spec., in the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris). Lescure (1988: 61) designated MNHNP 4271 B as lectotype.
