Abstract
- International audience; A gasoline-Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) Energy Management Strategy (EMS) is the computation of the distribution between electric and gasoline propulsion. The historical objective of EMS was to minimize fuel consumption. However, decreasing the fuel consumption does not directly minimize the pollutant emissions, as the operation of the 3 Way Catalytic Converter (3WCC) needs to be taken into account. This paper therefore proposes to integrate pollutant emission into the EMS with the Pontryagin Minimum Principle. A tradeoff between pollution and fuel consumption is then introduced. The integration of the 3WCC temperature into EMS is discussed and finally a simplification is proposed.
