Fast and accurate antenna array pattern synthesis using iterative FFT via least-square active element pattern expansion (LS-AEPE)

A new method incorporating the least-squares active element pattern expansion (LS-AEPE) into the iterative Fourier transform (IFT) procedure is introduced to synthesize the shaped beam pattern for the linear array with the strong scattering environment. The synthesized result, involving the mutual coupling and platform effect, is more accurate than traditional IFT, and the procedure takes very litter time. A 16-element array surrounded with many irregular scatters is given to validate the accuracy and efficiency of the introduced method.
