Abstract

Cephalopholis polleni (Bleeker 1868) —Harlequin grouper (Fig. 51) Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen photographed at Lissenung Island, Kavieng District at 30 m depth by Dean Tully on 30 Sept. 2013. Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Comores and Mascarenes east to Palau and Line Islands, north to Ryukyu Islands. Solitary on seaward reefs, 30–70 m depth.
