Abstract
- Atherinomorus lacunosus (Bloch & Schneider [ex Forster] 1801)—Hardyhead silverside Status at New Ireland. First recorded from Drei Inseln Harbour, New Hanover as Allanetta forskali by Munro (1958: 156). Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: Red Sea, East Africa, Madagascar and Mascarenes east to Hawaiian and Tuamotu islands, north to southern Japan and Ogasawara Islands, south to Western Australia, New South Wales (Australia) and Rapa, recently immigrated into eastern Mediterranean through Suez Canal. Pelagic, schooling along sandy shorelines and reef margins, 0–39 m depth.
