Abstract

The NHS must give as much priority to tackling ethnic minority health inequalities as other areas such as waiting times and financial targets, a new report1 has urged. The report by the King’s Fund, commissioned by the independent NHS Race and Health Observatory, said that as the biggest employer of minority ethnic staff in Europe, the NHS needed to take a lead in tackling long standing ethnic health disparities and health inequalities.
