Abstract

NFDI4Cat project aims to establish a comprehensive research data infrastructure, a crucial task was to identify an appropriate software for the centralized repository capable of effectively storing and managing user data and metadata. This repository selection process was carried out by a thorough collection of user requirements, gathered through extensive interviews with project participants. By consulting with a diverse range of stakeholders and experts, the NFDI4Cat project team was able to identify key criteria for the repository selection process. Once, the user requirements had been collected and analyzed, the project team was able to carefully evaluate potential repository options based on these criteria. By selecting a centralized repository that meets the specific needs of project participants, the NFDI4Cat project is laying a solid foundation for the effective management and dissemination of research data. This infrastructure will not only benefit the project's immediate goals but also contribute to the larger research community by providing a valuable resource for storing and sharing data in a standardized and accessible way. The methodology of the testing is described in the file "NFDI4Cat_Repository software evaluation results.pdf". Short overview of software possibilities and main results are describe in the file "NFDI4Cat_Repository software evaluation results_presentation.pdf".<br />Acknowledgements This work was funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) through the National Research Data Infrastructure for Catalysis-Related Sciences (NFDI4Cat), DFG project no. 441926934, within the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) program of the Joint Science Conference (GWK). Also thanks to the State of Baden Württemberg for providing bwCloud for test purposes and the project SDC4Lit which is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden- Württemberg (MWK).
