Abstract

We present a measurement and comparison of the [chi][sub [ital c]1] and [chi][sub [ital c]2] production cross sections determined from interactions of 300-GeV/[ital c] [pi][sup [plus minus]] and [ital p] with a Li target. We find [chi][sub [ital c]1]/[chi][sub [ital c]2] production ratios of 0.52[sub [minus]0.27][sup +0.57] and 0.08[sub [minus]0.15][sup +0.25] from reactions induced by [pi][sup [plus minus]] and [ital p], respectively.
