VITREOUS SEEDING ASSOCIATED WITH MELANOCYTOMA OF THE OPTIC DISC

The authors describe an unusual case of melanocytoma of the optic disc associated with seeding of extracellular pigment or melanin-containing macrophages into the overlying vitreous. The possible mechanisms responsible for this clinical picture are discussed.
