Abstract

We demonstrate experimentally and theoretically that self-assembled precipitate membranes with dual permeability can initiate and maintain exchange nanoflows using the chemical-potential gradient of a dissolving solute. Moreover, we show how such chemical energy can drive stable, oscillatory, and explosive convective motions.<br />J.H.E.C. acknowledges the financial support of the Spanish Ministry of Science, MINCINN Project No. FIS2016-77692-C2-2-P.
