Abstract
- 7. Donacia (Donaciomima) japana Aedeagus (Fig. 15): Median lobe slender, ventral edge of median orifice projecting at right angle; median foramen extending apical 1 / 4 of ventral surface of median lobe. Tegmen in ventrum forming foot-shaped lobe in lateral view and in dorsum slender lobe in dorsal view. Male internal reproductive system (Fig. 27): Testis discoid in shape, milky white in color. Accessory glands tubular; of a pair of accessory glands, shorter gland 1 / 3 1 / 2 times and longer gland equal length to maximal width of 2 testis lobes combined. Lateral ejaculatory duct tapering toward base, relatively short, about half length to maximal width of 2 testis lobes combined; common ejaculatory duct almost uniform in width but posterior part of ejaculatory duct tapering toward base, 22.5 times as long as maximal width of 2 testis lobes combined. Female internal reproductive system (Figs. 46, 47, 67 & 68): Spermathecal organ connected to bursa copulatrix dorso-apically. Spermathecal capsule hook-shaped, tapering toward apex proximally; spermathecal wall relatively thick apically; spermathecal duct uniform in width, about 2 / 3 times as long as maximal length of spermathecal capsule; spermathecal gland tubular, about 4.5 times as long as maximal length of spermathecal capsule.<br />Published as part of Matsumura, Yoko & Suzuki, Kunio, 2008, Comparative morphology of internal reproductive systems in leaf beetles of the Donaciinae and Criocerinae (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) and its implication for the phylogeny, pp. 1-32 in Zootaxa 1845 on page 17, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.183289
