Abstract: The Italian Society of Ultrasonography in Medicine and Biology (SIUMB) and the Italian Society of Medical and Interventional Radiology (SIRM) have jointly deemed it appropriate to prepare a document on the sonographic medical act outlining the characteristics of the said act and the physician sonologist’s education and competencies.
