Type species: Goniozus transvaalensis du Buysson, 1897: 354. Subsequent designation. Synonymized by Polaszek & Krombein, 1994: 98. Diagnosis. Median clypeal lobe large, triangular or subtriangular (Fig. 2b, Fig. 4b); dorsal pronotal area wider than long (Fig. 3e); notaulus absent (Fig. 2e); mesoscutellum with pair of pits (Fig. 2e); mesopleuron large (Fig. 7f), mesopleural dentate process present or not; metapostnotal median carina present (Fig. 9f); metapostnotal lateral carina present (Fig. 9f) or not (Fig. 2g); lateral marginal carina and transverse posterior carina of metapectal-propodeal complex present (Fig. 9f); prestigma and pterostigma of forewing present (Fig. 2h); second radial 1 cell of forewing opened (Fig. 2h); first median cell of forewing closed (Figs 2h) or opened (Fig. 9h); Rs+M 2 v shorter than Rs 2 v (Fig. 2h). Biology. All hosts known are lepidopterous larvae, e.g., Noctuidae, Oecophoridae, Pyralidae and Tortricidae (Pruthi & Mani 1942; Kurian 1954, 1955; Nagy 1976; Georgiev et al. 2001; Lim et al. 2009). Distribution. Australian, Afrotropical, Oriental and Palaearctic Regions (Azevedo et al. 2018).
