Many different spectroscopic techniques, whichhavefirstbeenappliedtoreducetheobservationvolumeortoprovideanewcontrastmechanisminmicroscopyapplications, weresubsequentlyusedforcorrelationspectroscopy.Themostprominent of these developments is the use of confocalmicroscopyincombinationwithfluorescencecorrelationspec-troscopy(FCS).
