Relationship between inflammatory parameters and cardiovascular and lifestyle factors in the Mugello study oldest old

Abstract
- Aim: To explore possible inter-relationships of various biomarkers of inflammation and lifestyle and other cardiovascular risk factors (age, gender, smoking history, hypertension, Type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia, alteration of circadian rhythms, body mass index, calf circumference, thigh circumference, abdominal circumference) in the Mugello study oldest old. Methods: In 399 noninstitutionalized nonagenarians (291 women), whole blood cells, mean platelet volume, C-reactive protein, uric acid, gamma-glutamyl transferase were assessed.
