Abstract

Laser diodes have a low divergence at output, making it easier to couple them to a fiber "single-mode", making them ideal for long-distance and high-speed links. Lasers are capable of high bandwidth, most are useful for frequencies above 10 GHz or data streams of more than 10 Gb/s. Aligning an optical fiber with a light emitter is a difficult and sensitive issue, thus it is useful to further study and better characterize the alignment of optical devices. The purpose of this paper is to present the realization of a platform for the analysis of the coupling and alignment of optical devices, of the emitted optical power, of the losses on optical fibre and at receivers, of the various devices emitting optical flow. On this platform it is possible to conduct experiments to determine the losses in the coupling optic elements, fibere types, lengths, splitters, connections extended through reflow of zone, receivers.
