Abstract

This paper reviews some results from the theory of two-time scale dynamical systems (also called fast-slow systems) and presents the detailed analysis of some systems of interest in electrical engineering and fusion plasma physics. The aim of this work is to introduce engineers to singular perturbation methods as a tool for providing additional insights in modeling and understanding systems whose components evolve on different time scales.
