Generalized interval estimation for the Birnbaum–Saunders distribution

Abstract
- In this paper, interval estimation for the Birnbaum-Saunders distribution is considered. The generalized confidence intervals for the shape parameter and some important reliability quantities such as its mean, quantiles and reliability function are explored. A simulation study illustrates the accuracy of these generalized confidence intervals. Finally, two numerical examples are used to illustrate the proposed procedures.
