Abstract
- There has been considerable interest in the use of resonators with a phase-conjugate mirror to enhance the performance of pulsed lasers. Stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) is often chosen as the phase conjugation mechanism because of its relative simplicity and high efficiency. A further interesting feature of SBS mirrors used in phase-conjugate resonators (PCR) is represented by their capability of providing passive self-Q-switching because of their intensity-dependent reflectivity.
