Abstract

Sustainable transitions are highly dependent on technological solutions, yet concerns arise regarding resource scarcity and supply-chain management. In this issue of One Earth, Hao et al. provide a technological forecast for platinum-group metals (PGMs), crucial for fuel cell technology. They allay fears of untimely PGM depletion but make several important assumptions.
