Uniform spaces can be represented by completely distributive lattices

The dual of the set of all uniform covers of a uniform space is characterized by lattice-theoretical properties within the completely distributive lattice of all stacks of the underlying set. This representation can be extended to an adjunction between the category of uniform spaces and uniformly continuous maps and a category of completely distributive lattices with specified bases and grills and complete homomorphisms preserving these structure-sets.
