Abstract

The LOREX‐ 205Tl solar neutrino experiment is designed to measure the solar neutrino flux integrated over the last few million of years using lorandite (TlAsS2) minerals from Allchar mine (Macedonia), by measuring the 205Pb content resulting from neutrino capture in 205Tl. The mean depth of the sample has to be determined by measuring the depth dependent cosmic ray induced production of isotopes 10Be, 26Al, 36Cl and 53Mn to evaluate the background 205Pb contributions. The basic idea is to accelerate the beams of above isotopes to energies required to obtain the fully stripped ions and separate them employing the resulting difference in q/m ratios.
