Electrospun TiO2 Nanofiber Electrode with Optimized Diameters for Lithium Ion Battery

Abstract
- TiO2 nanofibers (NFs) with different diameters (range from 100 nm to 500 nm) have been prepared by electrospinning technique with the subsequent process of heat treatment. The obtained NFs are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and their electrochemical performance has been investigated. The results showed a significant effect of the diameters of TiO2 NFs on their capacities and cycling stability. Polycrystalline TiO2 NFs with a diameter of 250 nm showed the best electrochemical performance.
