Abstract

In this chapter, we discuss the working principle of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), its capabilities for imaging skin, and how the technique is applied in clinical settings as well as in lab-based environments. Two case studies are then presented; the first to describe how OCT can be used for skin biomechanics measurements and the second to demonstrate its potential for diagnostic applications. Finally, we discuss the future potential of OCT for the diagnosis and management of diabetes-related complications.
