A Simple Test for Polarization of Multinomial Cell Probabilities

A test for polarization of multinomial cell probabilities is proposed. The test is found to have the optimal properties of unbiasedness and consistency against appropriate alternatives. A simulation study is made to compare the power of the proposed test with another well known test available in the literature. Finally, two examples are given to illustrate its use in practice.
