A special output coupler for the Nd:YVO4 laser based on the magneto-optic effect

Abstract
- The Faraday effect is one of the most important magneto-optical effects and widely used in the all-solid-state laser, fiber laser, optical communication, laser ranging, optical fiber sensing, etc. A special output coupler for the Nd:YVO4 laser based on the TGG magneto-optic effect is demonstrated and the transmissivity of this output coupler can been arbitrarily changed by an external magnetic field. When the magnetic intensities are 402.5, 580.0, 725.0 and 855.0 mT, its transmissivities are 10, 20, 30 and 40 %, respectively.
